A PETTICOAT DUEL

The theme this week was ‘skeletons’, some really interesting pieces of work created by the group..

A PETTICOAT DUEL

Back to back, the count begins
a duel between two skeletons.
Heaped up crowds eyed the shadows break
exhaled hot air with every pace.

Cold bones, the dew tickles the heel
reaching places once concealed
yet never touched by fertile hands
but always gripped by great demands.

This was how the feud was born.
And somehow where the lines were drawn.
Under a cloudless sky, the sun
warms up barrels on loaded guns.

The skeletons turn, two shots crack loud
the drag of death has spoken out
its voice more of a muttering
searches the crowds for its next victim.
