AUTUMN IN ARBOIS

It was an interesting session today at the writing group, nice to see new members and also nice to see Mick & Sibani from NWAMI in the background preparing for  their ‘Prevent Hate Crime’ event. The theme this week was to write in the form of ‘haiku’. Here’s my efforts:

AUTUMN IN ARBOIS

Cigarette breakfast

dead leaves fall on dampened turf

Chardonnay for lunch.

*Arbois is a small town in Jura, France, that produces some amazing wines. It was also the birthplace and home to Louis Pasteur.

EQUIVALENT EIGHT

American bricks

one hundred and twenty strong

thrown through a window.

*Equivalent eight is a controversial installation by artist Carl Andres of 120 bricks laid on a floor.
